Highway 190 links San Cristobal de las Casas to Tuxtla Gutierrez, which lies 85 km (53 mi) to the west, and to Comitan de Dominguez, located 95 km (59 mi) east. To reach the archaeological zone of Palenque, take Highway 199 about 207 km (128 mi) northeast. San Cristobal has a bus terminal offering service on the following lines: UNO, Maya de Oro and OOC. It also has a small airport that receives private planes.
